Whether you’re dealing with trauma, PTSD, abandonment issues, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or other concerns, I would be honored to journey with you toward healing and recovery. I use a variety of proven therapeutic techniques in my practice and will work with you to determine which approach would be best for your unique situation in order to help you achieve your treatment goals. With God’s help and direction, you don’t have to stay stuck in the rut you’re in; hope and healing are available to you through faith-based therapy.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goals as your therapist include providing a safe space for you to share your life experiences without judgment or fear of being misunderstood. My goal is that you would walk away from our sessions feeling more seen, heard, and understood.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals, couples, and families to talk through their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I am willing to incorporate prayer, Scripture, and any other faith-based modality that would be helpful to them. I will also provide tools such as coping skills, psychoeducation, reading materials, and interventions that they can utilize outside the therapy office to improve their lives and relationships.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
It is difficult to understand another person’s worldview or conceptualize another person’s understanding of their experiences without understanding the root of their faith and spirituality. In many ways, faith and spirituality are mechanisms by which we not only connect to a higher power, but by which we connect to each other as well as ourselves. By utilizing a faith-based approach, I am able to connect with my clients on a deeper level to process their thoughts, emotions, and past experiences through our shared understanding of God. Isaiah 55:11 reflects God’s words when He states, “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it” (ESV).
Qualifications & Experience
I received my Master’s degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. I also have my certificate for Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), one of the leading modalities for treating Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD).
My Call to Christian Counseling
I originally started out in nursing school and felt called to pursue counseling while completing my externship at a memory care facility in North Texas. Proverbs 16:24 says, “Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” I have always had a passion for helping others process their life experiences and wanted to pursue a career in being able to do this even more effectively.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
First and foremost, I am a mother to my wonderful five-year-old daughter, Ava. I also have a chocolate lab, Bailey. I like to run as well as read. I also like to paint and enjoy creating fluid art in my spare time.

Trauma and PTSD
If you are struggling with symptoms of PTSD or have ever experienced a traumatic event, getting support is essential to your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. The effects of experiencing trauma can leave us with lasting negative impacts on our self-esteem, relationships, and our sense of security within ourselves. I support clients in coping with and reducing the effects of trauma through CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), CBT, faith-based interventions, as well as other therapeutic interventions tailored specifically to what the client needs in the sessions.
Abandonment and Neglect
Experiencing feelings of abandonment and neglect can alter the way you operate in relationships with others and yourself. One of the many ways that we learn how to be in the world is through our attachment to others. If this attachment is unhealthy (anxious/insecure), it can cause us to experience conflict within ourselves. Ultimately, everyone wants to feel secure in relationships with others, but this does not always happen and it can be very painful to move on and heal from these relationships and situations. In Hebrews 13:5, God promises “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” I utilize faith as a center point in sessions to support clients in learning ways to form secure attachments, much like the one God calls us to have with Him.
Anxiety
Living with anxiety can make even the simplest tasks seem impossible, due to experiencing states of hypervigilance, automatic negative thoughts, and even physical symptoms. I help clients reduce symptoms of anxiety by identifying thoughts and beliefs that act as the source of the anxiety. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in combination with other interventions to reduce the effect that anxiety has on your life as well as your relationships.
Depression
Depression can steal joy from many areas of your life. If you are experiencing symptoms of depression, I would like to partner with you to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that may be contributing to these symptoms. You deserve to live your life to the fullest and it is possible to reclaim joy in your life with the help and tools available to you in therapy sessions.
Eating Disorders
I have worked closely with patients dealing with eating disorders at the inpatient and residential levels of care. Eating disorders are often tied more deeply to maladaptive thoughts and beliefs than just patterns of behaviors. I have also seen that it is difficult to recover fully from an eating disorder without support. If you are struggling with an eating disorder, I will support you in your recovery journey. I will offer support in individual sessions and can incorporate meetings with dieticians as well as other family members in need. You deserve support in your recovery, and therapy can be a great place to start healing, both mentally and physically.
